ABOUT CPT SWEAT LODGE
Cape Town Sweat Lodge was established by Guy Goode in 2013 after several trips to Brazil, working with, and learning from Teachers and Elders of the Red Path.
Guy pours a monthly purification sweat lodge in the way of the Temazcal – open to the whole community. He also is available to pour private lodges for special occasions like: Rites of Passage and Birthdays etc.
ABOUT GUY
I fell onto a path of healing after a paragliding accident in 2002. In my search for healing I discovered various modalities, and in some cases, learnt from the teachers I met. By 2005 I was trained in energy healing, had completed a Hatha Yoga teachers course in India, and found myself on a new path.
My life deepened in 2008 when I was introduced to a family in Brazil following the tradition of the Sacred Fire of Itzachilatlan – where I signed up to be part of their Vision Quest and Sun Dance movement – ceremonies found in ancient cultures. By participating in these ceremonies, and with the guidance of the elders of the lineage, my journey continued. By 2013 I was given the blessing to pour the Temazcal (Sweat Lodge) by the Chief of the Fire. And in 2026 I received the blessing of Medicine Man.
I continue to work in service of the community and, as a carrier of the sacred pipe, to hold ceremony in a way that honors life and all those who came before.
