ABOUT CPT SWEAT LODGE
Cape Town Sweat Lodge was established by Guy Goode in 2013 after several trips to Brazil, working with, and learning from Teachers and Elders of the Red Path.
Guy pours a monthly purification sweat lodge in the way of the Temazcal – open to the whole community. He also is available to pour private lodges for special occasions like: Rites of Passage and Birthdays etc.
ABOUT GUY
I fell onto a path of healing after a paragliding accident in 2002. From there, and in searching for my own healing, I called on various modalities from yoga to energy healing. I learnt from gifted teachers I met along the way. By 2005 I was a trained energy healer, had completed a yoga teachers training course in India, and was on the road to recovery.
My life deepened considerably in 2008 when I was introduced to a family in Brazil following the Red Path – and it was here where I signed up to be part of their Vision Quest movement – a process of spending time in solitude in nature – and completed four vision quests. And also the Sun Dance – a ceremony of life – originally found in ancient cultures. With the aid of the eleders of the lineage of the Sacred Fire of Itzachilatlan my healing continued – by 2013 I was given the blessing to pour the Temazcal (Sweat Lodge) by the Chief of the Fire.
I continue to work in service of the community, to offer the ceremony of the Temazcal in a sacred way, for the purpose of our healing and honoring all of life.
